This piece was inspired by listening to John Lennon's song, "Watching the Wheels." The song was released right before he was assassinated in early December, 1980, when he was enjoying a slower, quieter lifestyle with a young son and his wife, Yoko. The lyrics convey his contentment and a certain resignation from the life of a superstar.
