"Cascading Disaster"

I took the title from the Boston Globe's headline a few days after the 3/11/11 earthquake and tsunami in Japan. I was glued to the news and online images of the tsunami, utterly devastated by the whole disaster and the nuclear catastrophe. The image is also based on the huge photo below the headline, this strangely ethereal woman standing in the midst of the wreckage being very much symbolizing the sheer surrealism of the whole situation.
